Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has hinted at Australia eventually becoming a republic by noting the death of Queen Elizabeth II had opened the eyes of many to how the current system of government worked.
Speaking before flying out on Thursday evening to London, where he will attend the Queen’s funeral on Monday night, Australian time, Mr Albanese noted the domestic upheaval of the past week was new to most Australians.
