Political row erupts over ‘hero’s welcome’ for Assange

The Albanese government has moved on quickly from the liberation of Wikileaks founder’ Julian Assange, amid opposition attacks it had given a hero’s welcome to a convicted felon.
Anthony Albanese’s willingness to closely associate himself with Mr Assange has also raised eyebrows within the national security community, given Mr Assange’s wholesale leaking of US military and government secrets.
