t turns out that while you can still breed a prime minister, it’s becoming a lot cheaper to do so. Of the past 10 national leaders, six of them have gone to state schools or relatively cheap Catholic schools.

That’s a significant change given that of the 26 Australian educated prime ministers, 16 went to one of the 383 private schools, while only 10 came from the country’s 1059 state schools.
