PM shows signs of recovery as Labor ‘stops the rot’

Anthony Albanese’s personal standing has begun to recover, and he is more trusted than Peter Dutton despite his broken promise on tax cuts, according to a new poll which suggests the government has arrested its declining fortunes.

The latest The Australian Financial Review/Freshwater Strategy poll shows while Labor’s electoral support remains mired at pre-election levels, Mr Albanese’s rating as preferred prime minister has increased 5 percentage points in the past month.
