PM dismisses internal Liberal dissent over Deves as a ‘pile on’

Scott Morrison has dismissed complaints from within his own party as a “pile on”, as he defended his handpicked candidate for the seat of Warringah against demands she stand down over offensive comments made about transgender people.

After NSW Liberal Treasurer Matt Kean spoke out again and demanded Katherine Deves be disendorsed, Mr Morrison hinted that her views about transgender women not playing women’s sport were popular in the broader community.
