PM and mining sector at odds over ‘extremist’ IR laws
Anthony Albanese’s olive branch to business has been rejected, with mining companies labelling the government’s new wave of industrial relations laws as “some of the most extreme interventionist workplace changes that have ever been proposed in Australia”.
Speaking at an annual dinner in Canberra on Monday to kick off Minerals Week, the prime minister underscored the importance of the mining sector and critical minerals to the nation’s economic and clean energy future.
