PhD students stuck overseas as visa delays take up to 3 years

Hundreds of overseas PhD and postdoctoral researchers in areas critical to Australia’s future economy are waiting as long as three years to have their visas approved.
Academics say they are frustrated by the wait times with fully funded research on hold and students with grants and scholarships stuck in limbo with their careers on hold.
