Pandemic drives 38pc drop in hospital walk-ins

Patient walk-ins at hospitals fell by 38 per cent during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the health effect from physical distancing service restrictions likely to be felt for years.
New data from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare showed the average daily number of hospital presentations for injuries fell from 5800 in late February to 3400 at the end of March.
