One in six Australian women have experienced economic abuse by a partner, with an estimated 1.6 million having their money and job opportunities controlled or restricted, according to a new government survey.
Women reported economic abuse at more than double the rate for men, of whom 7.8 per cent or an estimated 745,000 experienced partner economic abuse.
