In the age of social media, question time has become all about getting the grab: the 30-second, often cringeworthy zinger that can be posted online.

Among the highlights on Thursday from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese were: “We are active on the cost of living, they are only active on the cost of lunching”, and “They are asking you to dig deep so someone else can dig in” – both references to the Coalition’s tax-free lunch policy for small businesses.
