NSW takes lead in sharing secret road crash data

The NSW Minns government is swinging its weight behind a push to make states and territories share secret crash accident data in a move proponents say will reduce pork barrelling of road funding as traffic deaths surge.

Federal Transport Minister Catherine King is increasingly expected to spearhead the move, which is backed by automobile clubs and road trauma surgeons, and comes after another supporter, independent ACT Senator David Pocock, voted for the government’s controversial gig workplace laws last week.
