‘Not a high bar to set’: MPs call on Bell to explain ANU Nazi gestures
Labor and Coalition MPs say Australian National University boss Genevieve Bell needs to provide a more plausible and thorough explanation on whether students at her institution perpetrated acts of hate and were apologists for terrorist organisations.
Josh Burns, the Labor MP leading a federal inquiry into antisemitism on university campuses, and the committee’s deputy, Liberal MP Henry Pike, both lashed Professor Bell’s performance at Wednesday’s public hearing.
