NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has joined business leaders arguing that COVID-19 border restrictions are inhibiting the economic recovery, putting pressure on other states to lift closures as the nation recorded no new local cases for the second day in a row.

Victoria's ban on all arrivals from Greater Sydney and Brisbane, including residents stranded interstate, is of particular concern for business, given it has welcomed international tennis players for the Australian Open grand slam.
