No trade deal for the sake of it, Albanese tells EU
Anthony Albanese has told the Europeans his government will not sign a free trade deal for the sake of it, as the federal opposition and farmers warn they will not support an arrangement that makes key concessions on agriculture.
As Trade Minister Don Farrell began the first of two days of talks in Brussels in a bid to broker an agreement, Mr Albanese, who is in Europe for three days, sought the support of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during talks in Berlin overnight on Monday.
