‘No glass beads’: Nats want protection for net zero deal
The Nationals say their support for net zero emissions will not be bought by “thirty pieces of silver”, and are insisting on changes to environmental and other laws they say will guarantee farmers and miners the security to keep operating as the economy transitions over the next three decades.
A package to be handed to Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Thursday is expected to include changes to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, along with requests for assistance and funding.
