Albanese rejects Greens’ demands for a climate trigger

Anthony Albanese has rejected dealing with the Greens to establish an environment protection authority, just days after Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek said she was negotiating with the minor party as well as the Coalition in a bid to fulfil an election promise.

With the Nature Positive Bill one of several key pieces of legislation stuck in the Senate, the prime minister said the Greens were looking for distractions rather than solutions, be it with the EPA or two housing bills also going nowhere.
