NDIS ‘navigator’ plan could save up to $5b

Replacing intermediaries in the National Disability Insurance Scheme with trained plan co-ordinators could save taxpayers up to $5 billion a year, the equivalent of about 9 per cent of explosive growth in the program.
New research being considered by the Albanese government shows NDIS participants would benefit from being assigned a specialist “navigator”, who would help design plans, manage budgets and identify service providers.
