Simon Holmes à Court’s crowdfunding group Climate 200 says the Coalition cannot win government unless it embraces climate action, after a string of lower-profile candidates backed by the organisation made electoral inroads in formerly safe seats of the major parties.

With attention focused on tight contests in independent-held seats such as Goldstein and Kooyong, less prominent candidates supported by Climate 200 secured substantial portions of the primary vote in outer suburban and regional electorates.
