Solidarity splinters as Melbourne locks down

Scott Morrison has blasted states for closing their borders to Victoria and jeopardising the national economic recovery, after Daniel Andrews announced the lockdown of 36 Melbourne suburbs for at least a month to battle alarming outbreaks of COVID-19 infections.

The crisis has further strained relations within the national cabinet, with Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk rounding on the Victorians and accusing Mr Morrison of lacking national leadership in the crisis.
