Morrison’s secret ministries ‘undermined’ responsible government

A defiant Scott Morrison has launched a fresh defence of his actions in secretly assuming powers for five ministerial portfolios in 2020 and 2021 after the Commonwealth’s top lawyer found the former prime minister had “fundamentally undermined” principles of responsible government.

Solicitor-General Stephen Donaghue in a report to the Albanese government found Mr Morrison did not break the law in appointing himself to the ministries.
