Overseas students are still pouring into the country, and fighting to stay once they are in, wrecking any chance the federal government has of meeting its target to bring down migration this financial year.
In October, 39,270 international students arrived in Australia, according to Australian Bureau of Statistics data released on Wednesday, higher than the 38,790 that arrived in the same month last year.
