Medcraft backs Hayne: Trust in business, politics broken

Global regulator Greg Medcraft has backed warnings by banking royal commissioner Kenneth Hayne that trust in public institutions and decision-making had been "damaged or destroyed".

Labor frontbencher Jim Chalmers also called for a change in the tenor of federal politics on Thursday, agreeing that political discourse was broken.
