Former Liberal finance minister Mathias Cormann has had his term extended as secretary-general of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development for a further five years, with the strong backing of the Trump administration.
The 38 member countries of the OECD Council agreed to give Cormann a second and final term at the Paris-based organisation from June 2026 to 2031.
