Libs mustn’t let Nats wag the dog on environment again

It’s more than five years since former Australian Competition and Consumer Commission chairman Graeme Samuel handed down a blueprint for fixing Australia’s broken environmental approval laws.

Yet with just four sitting days to go in Canberra this year, the Albanese government’s overhaul of the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act is struggling to pass the Senate before its self-appointed deadline of Christmas.
