The NSW Liberal Party has named candidates for nine seats across the state as the country prepares for the federal election to be called.

The candidates were chosen by Prime Minister Scott Morrison, NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet and former Liberal Party president Christine McDiven, bypassing local party members in a move that left some NSW Liberals aghast.
