Ed Husic has secured Greens support for Labor’s $15 billion National Reconstruction Fund after promising the industry-building scheme would not be allowed to spend money on coal or gas projects.

While support for fossil fuel was never envisaged in the scheme, Labor agreed to make the ban explicit, all but ensuring the fund will pass through the Senate in coming weeks.
