Labor under fire over ‘$1m-a-day’ recall of parliament

The Coalition has criticised the federal government’s decision to recall parliament to pass its energy intervention plan, saying the move will cost taxpayers more than $1 million.
After leaving Canberra for the summer break on December 2, MPs will be called back to Parliament House on Thursday for an unusual one-day sitting, with speedy consideration of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s energy deal expected.
