The media and technology industries have urged the Coalition and Labor not to rush through new laws to jail social media executives and fine companies billions of dollars for failing to remove "abhorrent" material like terrorist attacks from the internet.
The draft bill was expected to be introduced into the Senate and voted on by Wednesday night, and go through the House of Representatives on Thursday, one of the final pieces of legislation that will be passed before the election.
