Albanese’s personal crusade delivers $1.9b to single parents
The Albanese government will spend $1.9 billion over four years giving single parents an extra $176.90 a fortnight in welfare payments, winding back a welfare cut Labor helped implement when last in government.
Landing in Perth after a week in Britain, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said on Monday the single parenting payment would be paid until the youngest child turns 14, up from the current cut-off age of eight.
