Labor lashes Dutton over nuclear savings ‘gaffe’

Labor has lashed Peter Dutton for mistakenly claiming the Coalition’s nuclear policy will cut energy bills by 44 per cent, accusing the opposition leader of torpedoing his credibility with voters.
Campaigning in South Australia on Tuesday, Mr Dutton confused figures from Frontier Economics’ costings of his plan, which claimed the policy would cost $263 billion, or 44 per cent, less than Labor’s net zero plan.
