'Join the club': Amal Clooney's personal appeal to Australia
Human rights campaigner Amal Clooney has urged Australia to join a growing international movement against human rights abusers with new laws to seize assets and block travel.
The London-based barrister gave evidence to a parliamentary committee considering plans for a local Magnitsky Act, a cross-border sanctions regime designed to punish those behind extra-judicial killings, torture, sexual violence and government corruption.
