It’s time to revisit all those famous nuclear disaster movies
With debate about nuclear energy firmly in the zeitgeist, the movie business would be wise to contemplate redux versions of some box-office classics.
Rowan DeanSatiristThe world of nuclear disasters was rocked to its molten core this week with the news that the Coalition intends to make the next election a referendum on nuclear energy. With that in mind, surely now is the time for woke Australia to urgently re-visit all those famous “nuclear disaster” movies.
The China Syndrome: Gripping drama starring Jane Fonda about the mysterious trip to Australia of the Chinese Premier Li Qiang. In an Oscar-nominated performance, Fonda stars as ace Sky News reporter Cheng Lei, who has just escaped from a Chinese prison but is kept out of sight of the Chinese audience by burly bodyguards who block her from the cameras.
