‘It’s a matter of sovereignty’: PM not for turning on defence

At this stage, the prospect of Anthony Albanese securing a White House meeting with US President Donald Trump in just over a week is less than certain.

If it doesn’t eventuate, the prime minister will settle for a meeting on the sidelines of the G7 leaders’ summit, to which he has been invited as a guest, and which will take place in Alberta, Canada, the weekend after next.
