IR laws thwart Australia’s housing targets: builders
Labor’s union-friendly industrial relations laws will cause Australia to fall short of national housing targets for four of the next five years, industry has told the Albanese government, urging fixes to state planning rules and an urgent boost to the skilled workforce.
Master Builders Australia’s latest industry forecast shows the government’s national housing accord will miss its target of 1.2 million new homes over the next five years, falling about 110,000 dwellings short of the 2029 target.
