Insurers slam budget's 'short-sighted' climate measures

Australia's general insurers have slammed the Morrison government's failure to fund climate change resilience programs, labelling the focus on disaster recovery rather than prevention as "short-sighted and disappointing".

In Tuesday's federal budget, the government allocated $3.1 billion over five years to a "North Queensland Flood Recovery Package", most of which would help farmers affected by the February floods in Queensland.
