Heatwaves will raise the fire danger across the country again this week, after improved conditions over the Australia Day long weekend shifted attention towards recovery and commemoration.

Temperatures in Perth soared above 38 degrees on Monday, with the weather bureau forecasting that the heatwaves will start travelling east over the coming week.
