Green hydrogen not dead despite Fortescue retreat, says Bowen

Energy and Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen says “reports of the death of the green hydrogen industry are greatly exaggerated”, his comments following the decision by Andrew Forrest to shelve plans to produce 15 million tonnes a year by 2030.

With Mr Forrest’s decision widely regarded as a reality check on the feasibility of producing green hydrogen at commercial rates, Mr Bowen said there was more than $200 billion in the investment pipeline in Australia for the fuel source.
