Government offers $61m boost to tackle violent extremism

Countering violent extremism programs will receive a $61.7 million boost by the Morrison government amid growing alarm over surging numbers of anti-government conspiracy theorists.
The new funding includes $24.5 million to expand intervention programs into rural and regional areas, and $13.8 million for a national rehabilitation program for extremists already in custody.
