Gas 15pc cheaper under Dutton plan, but Rinehart not happy

The average industrial gas price would be 15 per cent cheaper had the Coalition’s gas reserve plan already been in place, Peter Dutton has claimed, as he attempted to get his campaign message back the cost of living.

Quoting selectively from the economic modelling which the Coalition has been promising for a week to release, but has yet to do so, the opposition leader said his plan to force more uncontracted gas away from Asian spot markets and into the East Coast domestic market to create a glut, should start lowering prices by the end of this calendar year.
