Future Made in Australia Act needs guardrails against waste: BCA

Taxpayers should be able to claw back money paid out under the Albanese government’s signature Future Made in Australia policy where businesses fail to meet clearly defined milestones, according to the Business Council of Australia.

Money should also only go to projects in which Australia has a “comparative advantage”, which, the BCA says, would exclude local solar and battery manufacturing, key pet projects of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
