The Morrison government has laid the groundwork for a post-election reform of Australia’s ports by charging the Productivity Commission to review all factors behind their inefficiency, including the industrial relations regime for dock workers.
As flagged last week, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg released the terms of reference for the inquiry and requested the final report be handed to government in August, which would be early into the next term of government.
