On October 6 last year, Anthony Albanese was the honoured guest at Sydney’s Lakemba Mosque, urging Muslims to vote Yes in the ultimately failed Indigenous recognition referendum a week later.

“What we are trying to do with this great Australian multicultural project is bring people together in harmony, being enriched by the diversity of this great land,” Albanese said.
