‘Father of the House’ fights for one more term

Federal Parliament’s longest-serving member, Kevin Andrews, is likely to survive a preselection challenge this weekend, according to the powerbrokers backing him.
Mr Andrews has held the safe Melbourne seat of Menzies since 1991, making him the “Father of the House”. A minister in both the Howard and Abbott governments, Mr Andrews is being challenged by barrister and army veteran Keith Wolahan, who served in Afghanistan.
