Farmers prepare to go to war with Labor over live sheep trade
Farmers are assembling a war chest of more than $1 million to target marginal Labor seats in Western Australia as relations between the sector and the Albanese government plunge over the shutdown of live sheep exports.
Farmers fear closing the sheep trade is a precursor to further clampdowns on agricultural industries by the federal government, driven by political calculations to curry favour with animal liberationists and the Animal Justice Party.
