Extra $63m for marketing to resuscitate international tourism
Marketing initiatives set to cost $63 million over the next three years will be rolled out globally as part of a government bid to reignite international tourism after nearly two years of border closures due to COVID-19.
It is nearly half of a $146.5 million package in the federal budget to support the tourism industry, which was arguably the hardest hit by the pandemic, as part of the Thrive 2030 strategy announced earlier this month.
