In February, the federal Workplace Gender Equality Agency for the first time published the median pay gap for base salaries at businesses with 100-plus employees.
The data revealed that women working in a medium-to-large sized business earn, on average, 14.5 per cent less than the men working in the same organisation, due in part to men occupying a disproportionate share of higher-paid roles.
