Biosecurity and economic experts have warned that even stricter social distancing measures may be required to stop the COVID-19 outbreak overwhelming the hospital system, despite the rate of new cases continuing to ease.
Their modelling, released on Monday, forecasts that Australia will have between 5200 and 6000 cases by April 1, and between 5500 and 6800 cases by April 2.
