Election donation rules target Palmer and Climate 200
Labor and the Coalition will team up to block Clive Palmer and fundraising vehicle Climate 200 from influencing federal elections with floods of cash, introducing new caps on campaign spending and donations, as well as speedy public disclosure rules.
Although not due to come into force in time for the next election, an in-principal agreement between the major parties will thwart the prospect of independent candidates including teal MPs spending millions to win seats in future.
