Dutton sorry for boycotting national apology to stolen generations
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has formally apologised to members of the stolen generations for boycotting Labor’s 2008 national apology, using the 15th anniversary of the apology to urge the Albanese government to bring undecided Australians along on its campaign for a Voice to parliament.
Directing his comments to stolen generations survivors and descendants, the opposition leader said he believed at the time an apology should only be delivered once violence suffered by Indigenous people was stopped.
