No one in the ALP will say it publicly, but there is a broad expectation, and in some cases hope, that the Queensland Labor government will lose the state election on October 26.
As has been well documented, Anthony Albanese, who must hold his own election by May next year, needs to pick up seats in Queensland if he is to stave off being reduced to minority government.
